Cut off Season

As I am getting older, I am reevaluating relationships in my life. Years go on and you realize how much can change. Relationships that were once close (so you thought) are becoming frayed and nonexistent. I thought that time would signify closeness. If I have known you for years, I used to think that we had a bond but relationships are like plants. You know that plant in your house that is extremely dramatic. If it doesn’t have enough sun it could become weak. If it becomes unwatered, it gets dry and it could die. Relationships need attention to thrive. I want my interactions to feel like sunshine. I don’t want the only time for people in my life to reach out when it is beneficial to them or if it’s transactional. I don’t want text messages to be just one sided favors or urgent wants without genuine care for one another. If you are feeling like some relationships have become complacent and not growing, it might be time to trim, cut off, tend to your neglected garden or plant more seeds. Whatever feels like the best option for growth in this season, I support you.
